The ever-fascinating 6.Bg5 Najdorf saw a number of theoretical developments in the past week. Few of you will have missed the spectacular game Berg-Vachier-Lagrave (in Gibraltar), which started with 6.Bg5 e6 7.f4 h6 8.Bh4 Qb6 (the Delayed, or Improved Poisoned Pawn). In fact the very same line was repeated just three days later in Bobras-Maksimenko, in the Bundesliga. But there was also the spectacular game Huschenbeth-Shirov, which followed the main line with 6.Bg5 e6 7.f4 Be7 8.Qf3 Qc7 9.0–0–0 Nbd7 10.g4 b5 11.Bxf6 Bxf6 12.g5 Nd7 13.f5 and now 'castling into it': 13...0–0!?
